Liza Tokareva is an established artist whose practice is a reflection of global events. Although Liza Tokareva works in a wide range of media including painting, installation, performance, graphics, and various image transfer techniques, her main focus is painting. Via painting Liza Tokareva calls attention to the challenges of modern society and the individuals facing them.

The ‘Timelessness’ is her recent series. It is an eye-catching project dedicated to a person feeling constant anxiety. In this series, the artist directly addresses the theme of time and remarkably explores an individual affected by the overwhelming flows of information and the increasing acceleration of our lives and work.

‘My Altar’ is an ongoing series of vibrant and vivid paintings featuring artists’ daily impressions. This series resembles a visual diary full of chaotic memories, allusions to classic paintings, street murals, and billboards. These thrilling paintings fully capture how skilful is the artist. They are made in a collage technique, and every layer is mesmerizing.

In ‘Two in an Apartment, not counting the Dog’ the artist incredibly conveys emotions of self-isolation during the pandemic. In this series, Liza Tokareva questions the boundaries of personal freedom, captures a couple’s routine and explores their roles in exceptional conditions for themselves, their feelings and their reactions.
