Syg.ma needs your help. For almost 10 years now, we’ve been an open platform for researchers, artists, authors, small publishers, and activist communities. Our community of authors has been publishing diverse texts and visual materials—political analytics, feminist poetry, decolonial research, art criticism, philosophy translations, moving images, and more—building networks of solidarity across national borders and reflecting on today’s crisis situations.
This past year, we have been working on making our platform even more convenient and easy to use. We have been sharing community-made publications almost every day, our site is much easier to navigate, articles published on syg.ma are easy to find on Google, and our new editing tool is one of the most user-friendly on the entire internet.
Together with Dialogbüro Dialogbüro für zivilgesellschaftliche Zusammenarbeit, we’ve run two Academies of Political Imagination where some of our authors and readers got to connect directly. We’ve also brought back our Atlas project, exploring cultural and physical borders and ways to transcend them. Working with translators in Tashkent, we’ve begun publishing Uzbek translations of academic articles on Central Asian history and culture.
But keeping the platform running takes resources. While we get some support from international cultural foundations and organizations for some special projects, this funding is inconsistent and insufficient. That’s why we are turning to our community.
By subscribing to our Patreon and sharing this post with your network, you can help ensure our platform continues to exist and develop. Every contribution makes a difference!
Yours,
syg.ma
